Ice, Ice, and More Ice

It poured most of the night, and then about 7AM the temp. dropped below freezing. A coating of ice appeared on everything. These are actually droplets of ice on the Spruce needles.
The branches of the trees were covered, and when the wind picked up it knocked the branches together, and some of the ice fell. This had been covering a branch. It's about 4" long and 1 1/2" wide.
Looking down at the yard.

This is ice on the end of a railroad tie I use for my raised flower beds.
Cone flower dead head.
Split rail fence.
Tuesday it's supposed to rain , then turn cold at night. The creek has just begun to recede, and will no doubt fill up again. We have our generator ready just in case we lose power.

Around Here

I have no wildlife pictures for you. It's hunting season for the Canada Geese, and with so many gun shots around, not much to see.
Yesterday we spotted this fisherman heading out for a day on the ice. This person is taking a big chance I think. Last week-end there was a water rescue on this lake after someone fell through and was trapped beneath the ice for 2-3 minutes. Successful rescue thank goodness, but you wouldn't catch me out there !
Just a couple shots looking up through the Spruce trees at the blue sky, which we haven't seen all that much lately.

A little old building that I haven't yet figured out what it was. It sits right on a corner of 5 dirt roads that come together. Seems too small for a school. Maybe an old church! It always fascinates me.

Gary took this shot looking across the road from our home. These deer and many more come out to feed about 3 o'clock every afternoon.

Well, it got up to 53º here today. Cloudy all day and windy. Friday it's supposed to hit almost 70º
Just a teaser for sure. We'll have more winter yet. Gee, the maple sap hasn't even been running yet.
