Summer is here for sure!

Another quite warm day folks, and tomorrow will be even hotter. Ugh!
I can't seem to ID this little flower. It is about the size of a shooter marble, and grows along side the road. We woke up to heavy fog this morning. This is a neighbors barn, and usually makes for a good subject to photograph.

I saw this tiny moth for the first time. Don't know what it is ...

A Belted Kingfisher lands in a tree a ways away. He had been fishing in the creek.

This poor Fritillary Butterfly really looks like it's been through the war.

This is an Aphrodite Fritillary Butterfly, and it's wings are really tattered. The garden is doing well this year. We're overrun with Yellow squash. Yum, yum!

Ruby Tuesday

I guess I'll just call this "End of the Season" for us that is. We had 2 light frosts last week, and although the veggies seem to be OK, I thought it best to pick everything.

This will be my job for today. I picked these tomatoes and peppers yesterday, and will can the tomatoes and freeze the peppers this morning. Our gardens have been doing great and seem to really love this HOT weather we've been having lately.
Happy Ruby Tuesday everyone, and thanks to mary/the teach for keeping this meme going. Just click on her web site http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/ to see tons more RED photos.
