Catching up on a few leftovers.
This horse came right up to the fence when I stopped to take a picture of something else, so I took his picture too. You will notice he has a strap around his neck. This is a cribbing strap. Cribbing in a horse occurs when a horse grabs a stall door, or a fence board with his front teeth, pulls on it and sucks in air. It is said that this vice releases endorphins within the horses brain causing a sensation of pleasure. Mostly horses do this because of boredom. The strap will prevent the horse from swelling up his neck to suck in air.

A Turkey Vulture soared overhead looking for breakfast.

Back at the Lake, we search for beach glass again.

Across the "pond" we can see our good friends in Canada, 21 miles away.

The weather at the beach was not good for searching for anything that day. Way too much wind, and the waves were crashing onto the shore. The sand on the shore in this picture is very deceiving. It is not safe to walk on! Actually the high waves have deposited this layer of sand on about 2 ft. of wet leaves that you can't see! When I tried to walk out there I sunk down over my ankles, got my feet wet, and thought I was going to get stuck. Of course I left my boots in the van.
Temp was 50º but felt like 30º with all the wind, and I only found 7 pieces of glass.

Back at home on the creek, the energetic beavers are hard at work once again building their dam.

I got a new feeder, and this Blue Jay is the first visitor. The feeder has been up 4 days, and I was beginning to wonder if any of them would stop by.

Not far from here we saw this para sail. It was a beautiful day, and must have been a good view from up there .

We've had some awesome weather the past few days. Sunny and although it hasn't been warm, it has been beautiful, and I'll take the sun any day.
Happy Thursday to everybody.
