Weekend Reflections

On a partly overcast day, my youngest granddaughter Jalyn, tried her hand at fishing. This is the creek behind our home, and this on day the water level is probably too low for any good fishing because she didn't have any luck, but at least it gave me some reflections.

Thursday

On such a beautiful day we decided to take a country ride. This is an old lumber mill that has been in business for years, and is now modernized. The wooden trestle you see used to carry trains from the main line over to  the mill with logs.
Next to the lumber mill is an old feed mill too. I'm sure at one time it had a water wheel. A couple guys were fishing on this beautiful day.
To the left of the trestle is a beautiful lake. At the far end, but you can't see it, is a huge Bald eagle nest. I got some pictures of the parents last Spring, but the eaglets were small and I didn't get any pictures of them. There is a road that goes partly around the lake, and it was there I found the eagles. It's on private property, and I haven't gotten back yet this year.
The wooden trestle now has become a walking/ fishing bridge.
A pair of cute ducks rest on the grass.
Well, another freeze predicted for us again tonight. I'm sure we will survive this one too.
