These little honey's are Speedwells. Less than 1/2" in size, close to the ground, and looking like teeny Pansies.

This, That, and the Other
We stopped at a beautiful Amish greenhouse yesterday afternoon. This is the view you see as you drive down the entrance. There is a gorgeous log home, barns, and a big pond. In the winter they process deer meat. They have 6 greenhouses with everything you could ever want. I know it's early, but I bought 3 Patio tomatoes, a hanging Tom Thumb tomato for my greenhouse, and a hanging Lobelia. When the weather settles down we'll go back. I would have taken lots of pictures, but didn't think I should.
Out back of the log home, is this cool bird feeder. I think we could fashion something similar from an old childs swing set. I'll be looking into this.

This is the other picture I got of the Fox. He stayed for a minute, and then some birds began chasing him. Boy can he run. I think he also lost what he had caught.

Ruby Tuesday
For Ruby Tuesday we were lucky to see this RED Fox. We were driving by a large field this morning when we came upon this RED fox hunting. I didn't realize until I uploaded the picture he had caught something. This fox seems to be in very good condition, but most of the other ones I've seen have been rather scraggy.

Another busy day
Another busy day. Gorgeous weather although a wee bit chilly, but as long as the sun is out it really doesn't matter.
My camera worked over time as there was just so much to photograph.
First this Brown Thrasher made a brief visit. I had seen one in late May last year and that one came to the feeder.
Around 7:30 last evening my neighbor Carol across the road called me and said there was a Bald Eagle watching me from our back yard. I was at the computer, and looked out the window, and there he was in back of our barn. Carol's son Michael said he heard a branch snap, and then saw the Eagle swoop down toward my chickens. I bet that scared them to death. This first shot is taken later after he flew down the creek farther and landed in this tree with the leaves.
What a regal sight. They truly are a magnificent bird.
On the creek trail there are Violets everywhere.
Blue and white. I know where there are some yellow ones, and I'll try to find them again.
A pair of Mallard ducks saw me and swam away.
I'm not sure what these are, but I liked them, and they become white berries later.
Leeks.
I heard a familiar song of the Grey Catbird.
Lots of Macintosh Apple blossoms. I hope we don't get a freeze now. My lilacs are budded too. They're my favorite and I surely don't want to lose them.
Mr. Red-winged Blackbird warning everybody that Azrael is on the prowl..
More visitors to the feeders Sunday was a pair of White -crowned Sparrows. I'm still waiting for the White -throated sparrows to show up. Should be any day now.

I spotted this Mourning Dove early in the day. I'm almost sure it has been attacked by something... Azrael? ? Anyway it looks pretty sad, and I'm not sure it will make it. There seems to be a small hole in the side of the face just below the eye, and will no doubt lead to infection. I'll be on the look-out for it again.
That's all for now. Yesterday was pretty busy also with some weed pulling, grass trimming and branches being pruned.
My camera worked over time as there was just so much to photograph.

Have a great start to the week, and don't forget to take at least one picture today.

Busy Saturday
Last week we had lunch with Gary's Aunt Sally at this delightful little restaurant. The inside is very rustic and so interesting to see all the animals and birds along the walls.

This huge Elk was above our table.
Each table has a galvanized bucket made into a lamp. There are booths and also tables.
In the corner is a working wood stove for those cold days. Hopefully those are gone for this season!
This Raccoon appears to be taking a nap. LOL
Benches on which to sit while you're waiting for a table. They are VERY busy!
These coach lights are by each doorway.
The food is delicious, and the waitresses are super friendly. We can't wait to go back. I didn't get pictures of the really cool chairs that were at the food bar. They are logs, about 6 ft. long, split in half lengthwise, legs cut in the bottom, a seat cut in the front, and on the backs of each chair are carvings of animals.
The weather was absolutely beautiful today, but a little cool. The trees and bushes are sending out their leaves. Flowers blooming at a slow rate, but blooming just the same. After all it is only early May. I guess we'd better not rush this spring, but enjoy each new day as it begins.

Out and about today we came across a herd of Scottish Belted Galloway cattle. This mama and baby. How cute is this? You could call them the Oreo cattle...
I saw my first White Crowned Sparrow this morning, but by the time I got my camera, it was gone. I'm sure it will be back.

More Catch-up
I do need to catch-up. We're excited because my Bantam Silkie hen is setting on 6 eggs. I have her by herself in a special pen. It's been 3 days now, and the chicks should hatch by May 20th. give or take a day . I'll keep you posted.
All the eggs aren't hers, but she doesn't mind being mama to all of them.
