Watery Wednesday/ Wednesday Post

I'm just going to do a double post today since I'm getting behind on pictures. I'll do my regular daily post and Watery Wednesday.
Last week we took a cruise on a pontoon boat through the lagoons at Presque Isle State Park , Erie Pennsylvania on Lake Erie. It was a gorgeous day and it was a really relaxing ride. This is the first lagoon we rode through. No wildlife anywhere.
A shot of the sun shining through the water behind the boat.

Lots and lots of Yellow water Lilies

Pickerelweed

Here is the reason why we didn't see much wildlife. Kayaks everywhere.

Here is a Beaver lodge. They are nocturnal, and were probably sleeping!

A huge Soft shelled turtle swimming with just his head above water.

A beautiful male Ebony Jewelwing Damselfly.

Sunday night a tornado struck the Peninsula on Presque Isle around 7:30 PM. We're going to take a ride there tomorrow, and see the damage. I'll get some pictures. It was the first tornado ever on the Peninsula.

Watery Wednesday

It's Watery Wednesday, and this waterfall is along a stretch of beach on Lake Erie. 2 weeks ago it was frozen. There still is plenty of shore ice, but with warmer weather coming this week, most of it might disappear.

Rainy and Windy Saturday

It was so gloomy and wet again today, and no we're not getting used to it. LOL We've had almost 1 1/2" of rain in the past 24 hours. The creek trail is mostly under water, and the temp. is 48ยบ
On my ever bearing red Raspberry bushes are new berries that never get ripe this time of year. The frost will get them before I do.
I did see a cute Downy woodpecker on the trail yesterday, before all the rain began.

We drove to Lake Erie this afternoon to see the really high waves crashing onto the rocky shores.

I wouldn't like to be out there in a boat...

These breakers are 10-12 ft. high and this wall of water really smashed into it, throwing sand and gravel everywhere.

During the day there were 1000's of Sea Gulls flying over head. They sometimes land in the fields across the road from us. Usually when the Lake waters are very rough, and we live at least 30 miles from the lake.

I do hope we get a nicer day Sunday. Enough is enough. As I mentioned if all this water were snow, we'd be up to our eyeballs in it!

Watery Wednesday

It's Watery Wednesday and once again I had to dig back in my files for this shot from last summer. This is taken at Barcelona, New York on Lake Erie.

Watery Wednesday

I guess frozen water counts doesn't it? Any other water around here is way too dirty to photograph after all the rain we've had.
These were taken in our front yard after that icing on Monday morning.
Happy Watery Wednesday everybody. Click on http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/ to see lots more watery pictures, and Thanks to 2sweetnsaxy for hosting this site.
