PS Sorry if I have neglected anyone's blogs lately. It has been a busy week, and will be until Monday. Love ya all!
Driving along out in the boonies, We see this fox in the middle of the road. A first he was all curled up on the pavement. As we drove closer he got up, but didn't make any attempt to leave.
I had to take this picture through the window, and didn't dare to get out for fear he would run off. Isn't he so cute. He did look a bit thin though as was his tail. Probably this years kit.
On down the road are some Larch trees. They have green "needles" like evergreens during the summer, then in the Fall they turn yellow, and later drop their "needles" so during the winter the tree is bare.
A little farther we came upon a pair of Ringed-necked Pheasants. These 2 weren't very skittish either, and I'm assuming they might have been raised on a Pheasant farm, and recently released for hunting season. There again photographing through the window-Sorry.
Such a gorgeous day.
This area used to be a large swamp, but now all that is left is a small stream running through the middle. Lots of cattails and wild grasses.
This is the stream. It's about 15 ft. wide.
A closer shot. During the summer months the entire stream is full of lily pads. We were hoping to see some ducks, but no such luck.
On our way home about 1 mile from our house we passed this Amish buggy FULL of kids. It was headed away from us. 2 hours later we were sitting in our living room watching the news when I can hear this LOUD music. Really LOUD! Then I can hear horses feet Clip-Clop up the road by the house. I watched as the buggy with the horse trotting along made it's way past us. About an hour later I hear the music again, and this time I ran out to the front yard with my camera and hid behind one of the Blue Spruce trees. The buggy was coming by the house again this time the horse was just walking. There must have been at least 6-7 young folks in the buggy and they were hanging out the doors, all listening to this LOUD music, and I'm thinking it was Rock music. I felt so bad for the horse. I have no idea how long they had been riding around, and he looked so tired. The Amish around here are different, and the "kids" do stray sometimes.., but kids will be kids. The store up the road from us sells beer, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had some in that buggy.
