Ruby Tuesday

During a recent outing for lunch we saw this cool little lighthouse on Chautauqua Lake. It is non functional, but cute just the same.

Macro Monday

I just can't resist cute ducks. This little girl came right over to our van while we were eating lunch begging for food. I'm not sure what those spots on her bill are, and I don't remember ever seing them on ducks before..
Happy Macro Monday everyone, and if you will click on Lisa's site http://lisaschaos.com/ you can see lots more close-ups.

Changing Weather

Frosty wanted to drop by and say "HI" She has had her surgery, and is back to her old mischievous self. Now that Fall is on the way, the clouds are certainly changing.
The moon is a waning crescent.

Sunrise.

Sunset.

Midday.

Could look a bit like Donald Duck...

Another sunrise. Excuse the wires.

I see a rabbit in this one.

Have a wonderful rest of the week-end.

Weekend Reflections

I just love getting pictures of these Wood ducks on the creek. There have been 2 females everyday on this old tree, and this is one, might be used to me now. She didn't fly away..
Happy Weekend reflection everybody, and click on James' site http://newtowndailyphoto.blogspot.com to see more reflections..

Skywatch Friday

There seems to be lots of fog in our early Fall mornings. As the sun tries to burn through, it gives us a rich glow.
Happy Skywatch Friday and if you click on http://skyley.blogspot.com/ you will be treated to more beautiful sky images.

Some forgotten pictures

The Asparagus has all gone to seed, and these are what the berries look like. In about 3 weeks or so we'll mow them down for the winter. A Daddy Long-legs on the Milkweed pods. We have lots of healthy Milkweed this year, but no Monarch caterpillars YET!
Down on the creek a female Wood Duck rests by the water.
Last summer I posted some wild Cucumber, and this is a very young plant. I'll take more images as they mature.

With the lack of rain, leaves from the Aspen trees have already begun to fall, making walking on the trails quite noisy.

A cute little caterpillar, but I don't know what it is. It's not in any of my books.
I saw this pretty red Dragonfly too, and also don't know what it is.

On my morning walk with Tauqua last week this doe wanted to cross the road, but quickly changed her mind when she spotted us.

We're stacking wood everyday now, and I'm seeing more fungus on the logs.

Another hot one today, but we did have a very nice breeze.
Have a wonderful rest of the week.
