World Bird Wednesday

Imagine how excited I was yesterday when I looked out to the back yard, and in this high tree was a large flock of Cedar-wax wings. I don't see them very often and I ran to get my camera.
They were very busy flitting back and forth, and only stayed for about 15 minutes.

Ruby Tuesday

Ya gotta love this sign. I can remember when it said 100's sold. Now it's in the Billions! Remember when hamburgers were .15 cents, and cheeseburgers were .18  cents ?

Macro Monday

With all the rain lately there are the usual amazing mushrooms all over the yard. In the next few days I'll try to post more.
Happy Macro Monday, and do click on over to http://lisaschaos.com to see what Lisa has to offer in close-ups.
I really like the texture of this one.

9-11-2001

This is my tribute to all the courageous men and women that fought so hard that fateful day to keep our country safe. Also to all the workers, and citizens of New York city, Washington DC, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania that lost their lives in those early morning hours, and in the years to follow. Our son is a firefighter and an EMT, and they never know when the call comes just what they all might be facing at the other end.
Here is the hope that we as  the most wonderful nation in the world will never ever again have to experience that horror that occurred on 9-11.
God Bless America!

Weekend Reflections

This might be a bit odd, but it has been gloomy all week, and not many reflections out there. I happened to see this one last evening, as I sat in my recliner chair. I looked out into my little greenhouse and could see a reflection of the house down the street.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Skywatch Friday

In anticipation of Sunday and 9-11, this sky scene seemed appropriate.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. We got sun today for the first time this week.
God Bless America!

More Signs of Fall

More signs that Fall is only days away. The deer eating in the corn fields.
Lots and lots of Canada geese fly over throughout the day. Most of the geese around here will stick close by during the winter as long as the creek doesn't freeze.
Of course millions of Goldenrod plants everywhere!
The berries on the Holly are ripe, just waiting for those darling little Cedar-waxwings..
Lately in the mornings along with the fact that it is continually staying dark later, it quite often is foggy too.
Then there is the ever calling Crickets. I hate when one gets in the house!
So far this week we have had very little sun. It was cloudy all day today, and tonight it is drizzling and foggy! very miserable, BUT better than 2 feet of snow! Good grief, did I say that?
