Skywatch Friday

Last week one evening around 5PM, this Sundog appeared in the Southwest sky. A Sundog is an atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky. Sundogs may appear as a colored patch of light to the left or the right of the sun. They can be seen any where in the world, during any season, but they are not always bright or obvious. Sundogs are best seen and are most conspicuous when the sun is low either morning or evening.

SkyWatch Friday

At 6:45 AM Wednesday this was the color of the sky, and just like the old saying "Red in the Morning, Sailors Take Warning". We had a miserable day with very high winds, pelting rain, and cool temps. We even had the wood stove going.

SkyWatch Friday

It was a weird day. The weather was typical October weather actually, but any one wanting to take pictures might want to keep their eyes focused to the sky nearly all day.
Clouds of every shape, changing every second, rain sometimes so heavy it looked like a curtain, windy, blowing leaves everyplace, and then all of a sudden the sun would shine, and presto a beautiful rainbow! The geese were on the move traveling from one cornfield to another searching for any leftovers from the last chop.
Have a wonderful SkyWatch Friday, and if you click on http://skyley.blogspot.com/ you can view more spectacular SkyWatch photos. Thanks to Tom, Sandy, Imac, and Klauss for hosting this site.
