| All of a sudden from out of nowhere around 1:00 this afternoon a blinding snow squall appeared and in the period of 20 minutes the temperatures dropped nearly 10 degrees, and 2.5" of heavy wet snow dropped on us along with high winds from the South. This poor Cardinal hung on for dear life even got a wild hair doo. Click on over to http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com to see lots more bird photos. |

Magnificent colors and compositions against the winter background. Love the hair do.
THe blowing snow shows up well. That poor bird looks like he is wondering what happened.
He sure is a stubborn little guy to remain on that cold pipe and not find shelter.
Great photos of a beautiful bright bird.
Beautiful shots of the Cardinal. He is a beauty!
Vermillion brilliance.
You and Nadege ought to borrow each other's picture today: they look so good side-by-side.
Beautiful captures of this event and the Cardinal. It always amazes me how these ultralight little birds can manage in conditions like this!
Wonderful cardinal photos, one of our favourite backyard visitors.
He's one tough guy!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
It's a beautiful bird!
Rather stoic, isn't he? He's a beauty too!
Beautiful birds, but so tough on them this weather.
What exasperated body language this poor cardinal has! Charming shots!
He looks cold, but Cardinals seem to be survivors no matter what the conditions.
