Ruby Tuesday

Last Tuesday I did some photography at the local pre-school for a program on fire safety. The volunteer firemen ( to which our son belongs) came with their fire trucks, ambulance, and all their fire gear. They put on a wonderful program for these little folks, teaching them that it isn't scary to see someone all dressed up in a fire suit. They are just there to help them get to safety. They even let them try on all the clothes they wear.
On the way out of school, I spied this witch by the front door. She does have a little bit of red as she says "BOO".
Thanks to mary/ the teach for hosting this fun site. Please click on the ladybug at the right to see more Halloween reds.
Good Morning. Another frosty one is upon us. Skies are clear and it should be nice. Tomorrow will be a different story! The weather folks are talking a colder day and the possibility of that "S" word. Oh my, not yet!
These are more shots I did on Saturday.
Here are 2 Amish driving a wagon. An Amish barn in the distance. I could see some sort of activity toward the end of the barn.
I zoomed in and it looks like they are putting on siding.
Beaver pond with a lone orange tree.
Another shot of the beaver pond. We didn't spot any wildlife here.
Looking down a dirt road. There is some color left, but the leaves are falling fast.

Today's Flowers

We got our flu shots yesterday at the local fire station. Someone graciously donated roses for everyone to take on their way out.
Have a wonderful day and Thanks to those that host this gorgeous site. Click on Today's Flowers side bar to see more.
Good Morning. WOW, it's 20ยบ here this morning. For our good friends to the north in Canada that's -2c. Really frosty. Clear skies and no wind.
All the apples we had picked are done, BUT there are lots more on the trees, and we'll pick those today. I still want to dry some too.
Yesterday we got the grass mowed hopefully for the last time this Fall, got our flu shots, finished the apples, and then we went for a ride in the country. The leaves are falling fast now, and this will be the last week-end to enjoy them.
I'm trying a new thing with my pictures, and if it works, I'll put more on tomorrow that I took yesterday. Have a wonderful day, and get out there and take some pictures. You'll appreciate it when we have 3 feet of snow on the ground, and you can't get outside. LOL.

Good Morning. It's quite frosty here, but the sun is up, and it promises to be a nice day.
Honey-Bun and Savannah are home. Here they are looking out the doorway into their new paddock area. There is plenty of their favorite weeds out there to munch on, but they are a little spooky yet. Honey-Bun on the left is the mom. More shots of geese. There seems to be so many more this year.
A shrub on our llama trail that has cool blue berries.
The Sumac leaves are beautiful this Fall, and nearly every tree has different colored leaves.

Guess that's all for today. Another busy one. Flu shots this morning, process more apples later, mow grass, and on and on.
Have a wonderful day.

SkyWatch Friday

This shot was taken last Saturday by our daughter-in-law about 50 miles from here at Pumpkinville. She was there with the Brownie troop, and spotted this rare upside down rainbow. It's caused by the sun shining through the ice crystals in the Stratus clouds.
I had to share this with you. Thanks Helicia!
Happy SkyWatch Friday to all, and thanks to tom, Sandy, Imac, and Klaus for this site.

Good Morning! It's really a yucky start to the day, but promises to get better. Right now it is pouring, BUT it could be the white stuff! We have another whirlwind day. We leave here in 2 hours to go pick up the goats, and the remaining 3-4 chickens. It shouldn't take too long, but with this weather you never know.
On my creek walk yesterday I found these ever bearing red Raspberries at the back of our yard still producing. There are plenty of unripe ones left and they usually get frozen before they're ready to eat. These are the leaves of a pink Azalea.
The creek trail is covered with dried leaves making the walk quite crunchy sounding. It's difficult to sneak up on an unsuspecting animal now. And don't you just LOVE the nutty smell of the woods at this time of year.
A Sycamore leaf lazily bobbing atop the water on it's journey down French creek and eventually to the Mississippi River.
Another of my "new" chickens. She is a Polish hen, and as of today I don't have a name for her yet. Any suggestions?
I always try to name all my animals. Don't ya love that goofy top knot? I don't know if you can see it, but there are a couple black feathers in the front.

On our trip into town yesterday we saw this Halloween display. This is in the rear of a very old brick building in the original part of town. I think there are some apartments back here, but I wasn't aware anyone lived it them. While we were there an old Chevy El Camino pulled in just loaded with potted Mums. I wonder where there is room for anything else? ? Well, I must get going. Lots to do. Have a wonderful day, stay dry and warm, and try to take at least one photo.
Happy Thursday everybody.
