Friday's Fences

Happy Friday everyone. We stopped this afternoon at the Amish greenhouses to see what Fall flowers they have. The greenhouses are ablaze with 100's of colorful Mums, and of course I had to buy 3... This is the drive leading to the greenhouses, and I like the look of the split rail fence and the stones too along side a large pond.

Friday's Fences

I know it's still Fall yet, but I haven't seen any interesting fences this week, and did come across this one from a couple years ago after a very cold night and lots of snow that left a light coating of ice on everything.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week, and have a beautiful weekend.

Friday's Fences

It's Friday again, and time for fences.
I have had plenty of trouble trying to post on Blogger the past 2 days, and finally got it to work, but I had to try something different. Anyhow, there is a ski resort/ golf resort near us, and they always have some pretty flowers planted along the fence that borders the main road. In years past there have been many more variety's, but this year just these purple ones.
Sign of the failing economy maybe.

Friday's Fences

I couldn't find anything special for this weeks fences, so here is a shot of part of the split rail fences in the front of our home. The Spruce trees are ever growing closer to them. I imagine one of these days we'll have to have them moved ahead a bit.
Getting rain finally, and we love it. The grass is going crazy too. I think I can hear it growing!
Happy Friday. Do click on over to http://lifeaccordingtojanandjer.blogspot.com to see more fences.

Friday's Fences

Here it is Friday again, and time to look at some fences. This particular fence we pass on our way to town, and for once there was no one following me, so I could stop and take a picture.
Happy Friday. We got a good bit of rain today, which was SO welcome, and now the garden will be in it's glory once again.

Friday's Fences

It's Friday and time for fences. This split rail fence is along the walking trail we visited in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania where you can view the remains of the Kinzua Viaduct. It at one time was the largest/ longest railroad viaduct in the world. In 2003 an F1 tornado destroyed a good part of the viaduct. Today the state has made a visitor center and restored what was left of this famous viaduct making it now possible to walk out to the end and view all the destruction . The mangled iron pieces that once were part of the viaduct remain in the valley below.  I will be posting lots more pictures on Sunday, so please come back. You won't be disappointed.

Friday's Fences #40

This isn't a very special or unusual fence, but I love this scene with the old bicycle and the flowers.

Friday's Fences

On our way out to dinner tonight, we drove by this wood fence that goes on forever. The owners have this type of fence all around their entire property.
Looking off to one side they even have a stone pump house with a water wheel.
This is farther on down the road..

Friday's Fences #37

I thought I'd try this meme because I love fences. This particular fence goes for quite a way, and the owner keeps adding new wood each week. The fence gets more beautiful as it ages.
