Barn Charm

Here is a 2-fer...
There is a riding stable we pass on our way to watch trains. They have at least 30 horses, many ponies, miniature donkeys, goats, geese, ducks, llamas, and who knows what else.
Another view.
A couple of the donkeys. Each time we pass by we see something new.

Macro Monday

It's Monday again, and time for macro shots.
The Chicory is one of my favorite flowers. I just love the blue color.
Taking pictures this morning I found this tiny bee deep in the flower all covered with pollen.

Friday's Fences #40

This isn't a very special or unusual fence, but I love this scene with the old bicycle and the flowers.
If you click on http://lifeaccordingtojanandjer.blogspot.com you can see lots more cool fences.

World Bird Wednesday

The babies are here! I've spent a good amount of time photographing these Baltimore oriole juveniles, and I found out they aren't as easy as I thought! My goodness are they fast and so much arguing! Here is a young male in the tree waiting his turn at the grape jelly.
A newcomer at the restaurant too is this male House Finch. I did see him eat some jelly.

Another juvenile male oriole in the trees.
Here is a female begging food from Dad.
I love this one, a young male on his first time to the feeder no doubt. He looks a bit suspicious don't you think, as the wind blows his top feathers..
Happy WBW, and be sure to click on over to http://pineriverreview.blogspot.com to see lots more birds.

Barn Charm

It's Tuesday and time for Barn Charm. This wonderful old timer is just up the road from us, and although it no longer houses cows the owners have kept it in fairly good shape. I really like the silos too..
happy Tuesday, and click on http://bluffareadaily.blogspot.com to see lots more delightful barns.

Sunday

Recently on a train watching trip to Westfield, New York, I went into town and took pictures of the famous statues of the meeting  of Abraham Lincoln and a little girl named Grace Bedell. These statues are on a small corner park near the center of town. I have done this post before, but I thought you might like to read about it again.
I had hoped the roses would be better, but most were past their prime.
You can  Google Grace Bedell, and read more about this famous meeting right here in this town.
I have to agree, Abe does look better with whiskers!
Another hot day in store. No rain in the forecast either.
Have a wonderful Sunday..
