Deer Park #1

This will be the first in a short series on our trip to Deer Park.
I really don't know what this duck is, and didn't see any plaque with the name. I like the colors though. The next few shots are of the 2 beautiful Peacocks they have.

These pens contain goats, sheep, ducks and geese that the public can't touch. They have a petting zoo that has all kinds of hands on animals. Part of it can be seen off to the left. They had 2 kid goats born the day before.

African Crowned Crane. There are 6 of these around the park.

2 Alpacas and a Llama that were being antisocial!
This is only a very small number of the deer in this park. The spotted ones are Fallow deer. As soon as you get any where near to the fence all of them run over to beg for food.

I'll post more animals on Sunday. Have a wonderful week-end all.

Skywatch Friday

This is a 6:30 in the morning shot, and it was gone in a matter of minutes. Believe it or not it turned out to be a nice day.
Happy Skywatch Friday all.

Just Stuff

Just playing catch-up. I have so many pictures that I never get to post. Here are just a few
This airplane flew rather low over the field across the street. In case I forgot to mention I found another Monarch caterpillar. I had this one for 2 days and he attached to the jar lid last night. We'll check in 10 days and get pictures. I've asked the granddaughters to name it. Stay tuned...

It's mushroom season, and this one growing under our pine trees.

I discovered this beauty right by our front steps. I have a very good mushroom ID book, and can't locate it in the book!

It's time to find some great dried weeds too. These are the seeds from the Wild Parsnip plant. It is an invasive plant that can give you a nasty rash if you come in contact with the "juice".

One morning this spider web was strung from our "kids" Jeep antenna to the car body.
A somewhat rare sighting this summer of a Monarch butterfly.

Another dried weed seed pod.

More seed pods.

On our trip last week-end to Deer Park, there were 2 very beautiful peacocks. This is one, and I'll post more pictures on Saturday.

Macro Monday

We all went for a visit to an animal park today, and this Zebra was nice enough to let me take a close-up of his ear.
Happy Macro Monday everybody. Thanks to those responsible for keeping this meme going.

Saturday's Findings

Saturday we mowed grass. I did the trails, and then took a walk on them. Of course the cats tagged along. I heard 2 Belted Kingfishers, but only saw this one. They are really spooky and difficult to film. This one was fishing and made 3 catches while I was there watching. The last one, he landed right above me on a limb, but saw the cats and me, and flew away down stream.

These are wild Grape leaves high up in a Willow tree. Something has been eating them, and they look like lace.

How about a close-up of Sumac.
This is a macro of a flower I saw when we went on our ride Friday, but I don't know what it is.
Have a wonderful rest of the week-end.
