Ruby Tuesday

It's Tuesday, and we have had some really nice days the past week. Even folks got out in their kayaks possibly for a last time before bad weather set in.
Happy Ruby Tuesday. Click on http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com to see more REDS.

Macro Monday

Busy, busy weekend, and I didn't get to take many pictures. The moon tonight is gorgeous, but maybe some rain on the way for tomorrow.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

A Beautiful Fall Day

This is my garden gnome, and after looking at all the leaves that fell today, in the picture below  he seems to be taking a nap.
A ride through the countryside, and even though there isn't much color left, it's still beautiful.
My Christmas cactus is in full bloom. Hummm, what does that mean? Maybe it knows something we don't
Have a nice rest of the weekend. The weather here is beautiful..

Weekend Reflections

The weather here in SW New York state has been quite nice the past few days, and I was able yesterday morning to capture another reflection from Findley Lake not far from us. When there is no wind, the possibilities are endless.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and click on over to http://weekendreflection.blogspot.com to see more great pictures.

Skywatch Friday

Now that Fall is here we have these great flocks of Canada geese flying over at any time of the day, practicing what they do best.
Happy Skywatch Friday. Click on http://skyley.blogspot.com to see lots more sky shots.

A Beautiful Fall Day

Taking a ride today on such a beautiful day, we ended up on Lake Erie, where I saw this Great Blue Heron. I haven't seen many this summer, and none at all around home.
I also spotted these Common Mergansers.
I was able to walk on our creek trail yesterday for the first time in a long time, and these grape vines are nearly as big as my arm.
After all the recent rain we still have lots of mushrooms.
I hope everyone had a safe Halloween, and have a great rest of the week.

World Bird Wednesday

I don't have much to add this week except these Turkey poults crossed the road not far from our house.. You would have to hurry with your pictures because these kids don't waste time getting out of sight.

I might also add that a new predator has appeared on the scene since I've gotten more laying hens. This morning around 05:30 I awoke to the familiar sound of a hoot-hoot-hoot hoot of a Great-horned owl somewhere near my barn. The automatic light over the chicken pen was on, the roosters were crowing, and Mr. Owl certainly was reading the room! I'll keep you posted, hopefully with some pictures. PS, all the girls are kept inside at night, and I don't let them out till daylight.
